To continuously advance the Tsukuba Super Science City Initiative, the University of Tsukuba has launched a new initiative with Tsukuba City utilizing the corporate version of the Hometown Tax Donation program (a tax incentive program for corporate donations to local governments). Tsukuba City will use donations made to the city to address local issues and facilitate the societal implementation of cutting-edge technologies. At the same time, Tsukuba city will allocate a portion of these donations as grants to the University of Tsukuba to support its initiatives that contribute to the Tsukuba Super Science City Initiative.
The University of Tsukuba has been designated as the first partner organization of Tsukuba City under this initiative and has signed a partnership agreement regarding this project. The University will collaborate with Tsukuba City to solicit donations from corporations.
