On July 8, 2026, Tsukuba Startup Park hosted a networking event titled “Frontiers of Innovation No. 26: New Pathways to a City Where New Combinations Emerge”. Mr. Yahagi, Chief Project Manager of the Office of Business and Stakeholder Relations, Bureau of Business and Finance, University of Tsukuba, participated in the event as a panelist in the panel discussion.
The Frontiers of Innovation series brings together professionals from a wide range of fields, including research, technology, business, and community development, to explore opportunities for creating new value for society and local communities.
Under the theme “New Pathways to a City Where New Combinations Emerge”, participants discussed mechanisms and environments that foster connections among the diverse stakeholders of Tsukuba Science City, including researchers, students, companies, and local residents. The discussion focused on how these interactions can generate innovation and create new opportunities for collaboration.
Representatives from The Future Society Design Complex, T-Village, and The IMAGINE THE FUTURE Forum (ITF.F) also joined the panel discussion.
They introduced the missions and functions of their respective facilities and explored possibilities for creating new value through collaboration with local communities.
The panel also highlighted ongoing initiatives, operational approaches, and the challenges currently faced by each organization.
The University of Tsukuba remains committed to fostering regional innovation by creating opportunities for interaction and co-creation among diverse stakeholders from academia, industry, government, and the wider community.
